"Ahhhh-ahh! We come from the land of ice and snow..."
Immigrant Song, anyone?
We're under a foot of snow and ice here in Seymour. Maybe you are, too. You might think that I'm terrified of wintry weather given the wreck we had back in 2002. That's only half-true. If we're going down the highway, yes. But if it's just around town, I'm all about it. Love to hop in my car and drive around in it. I took a few pictures yesterday. Roll the ugliness:

Where do you go when you want to be safe and warm, but still get out of the house?
You go here:

This was my view:

Left that last one in color so you could feel it.
Do you feel it?
Congratulations to Seymour, Indiana's very own Katie Stam on winning Miss America 2009 this past Saturday night. Given the circumstances, that is probably the one-and-only time I'll ever be interested enough in the Miss America Pageant to watch it, and it ended up being worth it. I can't remember who it was that was singing, but during the talent competition, I laughed curiously when the text "Has performed before in a prison" popped-up on the screen.
Owen updated his blog a few days ago with a few new thoughts on our upcoming record. Go HERE to read up. A lot of my friends who've read it already have gotten in touch to say they're excited that we'll be pressing up a limited amount of vinyl. There is a part of me that thought that vinyl was relegated here in 2009 to the ranks of indie-rock, which, as you'll read in Owen's blog, nobody in our band feels like they have much in common with. Then again, I know it's silly for me to think of it like that given vinyl's heritage within the history of Rock & Roll. And the more I think about it, I'm sure the record on vinyl will sound really good! You know... "warm" and "punchy" and all of those things that people typically attribute to that format.
We like Twitter, so we signed up for a band account:

If you tweet (there had to be a less pansy-ish term they could've chosen instead), visit and follow, because we'll be pretty active on it from here on out.
A lot of deliberation is being done about how to best stream video of us live in the studio. We'll get it figured out in time, and we're really excited about this element of tracking - letting people into our world a bit. I'm already working towards cutting back on the amount of curse words that come out of my mouth in case my little cousins decide to check-in with us while the cameras are rolling.
If you want to help spread the word about the streaming via Facebook, we created an Event to make it easier. Click on the picture below, select "Attending", and invite your pals.
You'll need to be signed-in to Facebook in order to view the page. Thanks for your involvement.
That's all I got today. Going to brew another pot of Dunkin Donuts coffee and revisit a lot of records from the early 90's that got me through high school. Just finished "Temple Of The Dog - (self-titled)" and "Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger". Chris Cornell has a throat; that's for sure.
Stay safe, everybody.
